Collingwood’s downtown will officially kick off the holiday season on Saturday, November 21, 2026, when the annual Christmas Season Launch featuring the Santa Claus Parade returns to Hurontario Street.
The Christmas Season Launch is an all-day event that begins with merchant open houses, street carolers, and strolling entertainers. The parade itself starts at 5 p.m. and runs along Hurontario Street from Hume Street to First Street, ending with the traditional lighting of the town Christmas Tree.
Organized by the Collingwood Downtown BIA, the event is the traditional kickoff of the holiday shopping season for more than 600 downtown businesses. The BIA connects independent shops and restaurants in the historic core, which includes 30-plus restaurants and 60-plus boutique shops.
Businesses and community groups can enter floats in the parade for $50, and the fee is waived for community groups and non-profit organizations. The parade was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has run each year since returning in 2021.
