School bus registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open for families in Colwood, British Columbia. The Sooke School District opened the sign-up window at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children by the April 30, 2026, deadline to secure a seat for the upcoming school year. To complete the online application, families must provide their child’s provincial pupil number or a new student registration number.
Anyone who registers on or after May 1, 2026, will have their application processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This could result in students being placed on a waitlist, as the district works with limited resources and a growing population.
Under the British Columbia School Act, school districts are not legally required to provide bus services. The Sooke School District board uses registration fees to help cover the costs of the busing program, which exceeds the grants provided by the province.
Local schools, including Colwood Elementary School, are reminding families to sign up early. Missing the registration window may force parents to make last-minute changes to their travel or childcare plans before school starts in September.
