The Pacific Centre Family Services Association, a Colwood-based nonprofit, has launched a new fundraising drive to support mental health services for families across South Vancouver Island. The campaign, titled Circle of Care, officially began on May 1, 2026, to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month.
The organization is aiming to recruit 30 new monthly donors throughout the month of May. According to the association, monthly contributions provide steady and reliable support that allows the nonprofit to respond quickly when children, youth, and families require care.
Since 1968, the association has provided a variety of social and counselling services from community locations in Colwood, Langford, and Sooke. Their work includes mental health counselling, trauma therapy, youth outreach, family violence intervention, and support for isolated seniors. In 2022, the organization expanded its reach by opening the Westshore Community Health Centre, which provides primary medical care from family physicians and nurse practitioners.
While most of the association’s services are free, it also operates a community counselling program for individuals who do not meet the requirements of funded mandates. This specific program functions on a sliding fee scale, with rates starting at $20 per session.
The campaign launch arrives during a month dedicated to mental health advocacy in Canada, which includes the Canadian Mental Health Association Mental Health Week running from May 4 to May 10, and National Child and Youth Mental Health Day on May 7, 2026. Residents interested in learning more about the organization can visit their headquarters at Suite 200 – 324 Goldstream Avenue in Colwood.
