Cree comedian Don Burnstick will bring his stand-up act back to the Watson Art Centre in Dauphin, Manitoba on September 11, 2026. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnston & Company Auditorium, offering residents an evening of live comedy that is alcohol-free and suitable for all ages.
Tickets for the performance are $30, with the total cost coming to $31.38 after fees. Several non-alcoholic beverages will be available during the event. Burnstick last performed at the Watson Art Centre in February 2020, where he sold out the 300-seat auditorium.
Burnstick, from the Alexander First Nation just outside Edmonton, draws on over three decades of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction to deliver humor grounded in healing and wellness. He got sober at age 21 in 1985 and has since used comedy to connect with audiences, weaving Indigenous experiences into his act.
The Watson Art Centre, a Provincial Heritage Site at 104 1 Avenue Northwest, was built in 1905 as Dauphin’s original town hall. It was nearly torn down in the early 1970s before the Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council stepped in to save the building. Today it serves as a key venue for live entertainment in the city.
