Prairie Mountain Health is currently looking for local volunteers to join the team at the Dauphin Personal Care Home in Dauphin, Manitoba. These helpers will provide social and recreational support to long-term care residents through visits, activities, and local outings.
Those who sign up can choose from several roles, such as being a friendly visitor through the Be a Friend program or helping out in the garden. Other opportunities include providing musical entertainment, helping with recreation activities, or escorting residents to appointments and community events.
To participate, volunteers must be at least 15 years old and willing to commit to the program for at least six months. Most positions require a time commitment of up to four hours once per week.
Community members can apply for these roles by completing an online form through the regional volunteer portal. Applications are also available to be picked up directly at the care home facility.
