Residents in Dauphin, Manitoba, will soon have a chance to review and provide feedback on the city’s 2026 spending plans. The City of Dauphin officially posted a notice regarding its upcoming financial plan public hearing on April 15, 2026.
Public hearings are a mandatory requirement under the Manitoba Municipal Act. These sessions are designed to allow local councils to present their proposed operating and capital budgets while giving citizens an opportunity to share their thoughts on how tax dollars are allocated and identify local service priorities.
The city, which serves as a regional centre for a trading area of more than 56,000 people, is governed by a seven-member council. Led by Mayor David Bosiak and Deputy Mayor Christian Laughland, the council includes councillors Steven Sobering, Kathy Bellemare, Randy Daley, Ted Rea, and Devin Shtykalo. This group is responsible for finalizing and adopting the financial plan by the legislated provincial deadline of May 15.
