The 104th Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede kicked off on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Collins Exhibition Park in Dawson Creek, BC, bringing five days of rodeo action, midway fun, and family entertainment to the Peace Region. Gates opened at noon, with daily events running from about 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM through August 9.
This year’s event is the first held since the passing of long-time president Connie Patterson on April 24, 2026, at age 82. Patterson was a central figure in the rodeo community, recognized as the heart and soul of the Battle of the North and named the 2024 CPRA Committee Person of the Year. Organizers say her legacy is being honoured throughout the festivities.
A highlight of this year’s exhibition is the opening of a new horse barn at the fairgrounds. The Northern Lights College Foundation hosted the grand opening during the event, marking a key infrastructure upgrade for the park.
The Ranch Rodeo is set for Thursday, August 6 at 10:00 AM, featuring teams of four members all over age 19. The Annual Main Parade will roll out on Friday at 10:00 AM. Rodeo stock is once again supplied by Duane Kesler’s Championship Rodeo company, a partner of the event for more than three decades.
The Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede, known as the Greatest Show in the Peace, attracts over 30,000 visitors each year and remains a cornerstone of the region’s agricultural and western heritage.
