The Legacy Park Family Festival is returning to Fort Saskatchewan on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and organizers are currently seeking local groups to participate in the event. The festival, which runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Legacy Park, serves as a major community gathering expected to draw approximately 2,500 attendees.
Community, special interest, and non-profit groups have until May 15, 2026, to apply for an exhibitor booth. Successful applicants will be provided with a 10×10 foot space, including tables and chairs, to showcase their organizations. To participate, groups are required to hold a minimum of $2,000,000 in general liability insurance that names the City of Fort Saskatchewan as an additional insured party. Interested organizations can reach out to the city’s special events team at [email protected] or 780-912-2157 for more information.
The event, which is presented by Keyera and Return of the Sheep, marks a long-standing local tradition. A highlight of the day is the Sheep Returning Parade at 1:00 pm, which welcomes the city’s iconic flock of approximately 50 sheep back to their summer home in Peter T. Ream Historic Park. These sheep have been providing eco-friendly vegetation management across city parkland since 1992.
In addition to the sheep parade, the 2026 festival will feature live entertainment from headliner Beppie, a JUNO-nominated children’s musician. As the festival continues to grow in popularity, organizers are looking to build on the momentum of previous years, which saw a record 25 community groups and businesses participate in 2025.
