The Rural Municipality of Gimli, Manitoba, will hold a public hearing on April 15, 2026, to discuss its budget for the year. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. inside the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building on 2nd Ave.
Local residents can look over the 2026 spending plan starting on April 10, 2026. The document will be available at the municipal office and on the community website to show how tax money will be used for services like water, sewer, and road repairs.
This budget talk comes while the community performs a full review of its own governing policies. This review began after Mayor Kevin Chudd was suspended for seven days in January 2026 following an investigation into his conduct as a member of council.
The plan also includes support from the Manitoba Municipal Government. New provincial funding is set to give the community a share of gas tax revenue to help pay for local building projects like playgrounds and hockey rinks.
