The Town of Grimsby is launching its first-ever Startup Showcase on September 22, 2026, giving local entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners a free chance to connect, learn, and find the resources they need to grow. The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre on Livingston Avenue in Grimsby, Ontario.
This is the first initiative from the new Grimsby Start-Up Working Group, a pilot project created through the Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee. The working group includes people from municipal, regional, educational, business, and community organizations who want to strengthen the local entrepreneurial landscape through mentorship, collaboration, and better access to business resources.
Attendees can expect to meet other entrepreneurs and talk directly with organizations that offer expertise in business planning, financing, marketing, legal considerations, government programs, and innovation. The showcase is designed for start-ups, micro-business owners, solopreneurs, and anyone thinking about launching a business in Grimsby.
Frank Miele, the town’s economic development manager, says the event is free and registration is encouraged through the Let’s Talk Grimsby website. Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows. Organizers are also asking potential participants to fill out a short survey by August 28 to help shape future support initiatives.
The showcase builds on other local efforts, including the Grimsby Business Ambassador Program launched in 2025 and partnerships with groups like the St. Catharines Enterprise Centre, which provides tools and resources for new businesses across the region.
