A 33-year-old man from Grimsby, Ontario, was arrested after several daytime break-ins at homes in Burlington and Oakville. The Halton Regional Police Service led the investigation into the series of thefts that occurred throughout November 2025.
Police say the suspects would watch specific homes to ensure no one was there before forcing their way inside during the day. Once inside, they focused on master bedrooms to steal cash and various pieces of jewellery.
Darnyl Campbell of Grimsby and Clayton McFarlane of Oshawa were both charged with four counts of breaking and entering and four counts of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a crime. The arrests followed a collaborative effort between police services in Halton, York, and Peel.
Both men appeared in a Milton court on March 6, 2026, and were kept in custody. Investigators believe there may be more incidents linked to the pair and are continuing to look into the case as it proceeds.
Local authorities are reminding residents to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods to help prevent future crimes. Residents who notice people watching homes or unusual behaviour on their streets are encouraged to contact the police.
