Small business owners in Guelph and Wellington County have an opportunity to sharpen their financial management skills during a free virtual workshop taking place on April 14, 2026. The Business Centre Guelph-Wellington is hosting the session, titled Start Smart: Small Business Bookkeeping for the Year Ahead, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
The online event will be presented by Ruby Langdon of The Lazy Bookkeeping Method, a local bookkeeping firm. The workshop aims to help entrepreneurs navigate common financial challenges, such as tracking income and expenses, managing money flow, and establishing a consistent weekly routine to keep business records organized.
Participants will also learn about various tools to simplify bookkeeping tasks, including the use of receipt apps and software like QuickBooks. The session is designed to provide practical support for business owners who may feel overwhelmed by the administrative side of running their operations.
Since its founding in 1999, the Business Centre Guelph-Wellington has provided resources and mentorship to over 5,000 local small businesses. Under the leadership of Executive Director Kristel Manes, the organization continues to serve entrepreneurs across the city and county, helping to foster local job growth and community investment.
