The Guelph Police Service responded to 251 calls for help over a 24-hour period on March 24 and March 25, 2026, in Guelph, Ontario. These calls included an arrest in a child luring case and a search for a man following an indecent act in a neighbourhood park.
Officers arrested a 38-year-old local man following a cross-country investigation that originated from RCMP information regarding an undercover officer in Newfoundland posing as a 15-year-old girl. The man is charged with two counts of luring a child under 16 and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16. He is accused of sending explicit images and videos during online chats and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16, 2026. In a separate case, a 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing approximately $3,300 worth of alcohol from a west-end LCBO on three occasions between March and April 2025.
Police are also asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was seen acting indecently at W.E. Hamilton Park on March 24, 2026. A 12-year-old girl and two friends reported seeing a man in a bush area with his pants down masturbating near Scottsdale Drive at approximately 4 p.m. The suspect is described as a white male between 25 and 35 years old, wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, and a black backpack, with a green and blue camouflage face covering. He was last seen walking toward Stone Road Mall.
