The Guelph Storm hosted its 4th annual Captain’s Cause Night on March 18, 2026, to raise money for the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington. The event was held in Guelph, Ontario, during a home game against the London Knights to help residents living with dementia and their families.
The fundraiser was supported by BDO Canada as part of an ongoing partnership with the major junior hockey team. This event has become a yearly tradition for the community to come together and support a local cause.
While final totals for this year are being calculated, the very first Captain’s Cause Night raised over $5,000 for the health organization. Money raised during these events often comes from community initiatives like 50-50 draws held during the game.
The team uses these nights to focus on local health issues and provide direct support to the community. This partnership highlights the long-term relationship between the hockey club and the local Alzheimer Society chapter.
