Hanover, Ontario will see a mix of stormy and sunny weather this week before rain returns on the weekend, according to Environment Canada.
As of Tuesday, July 28, 2026, cloudy skies are in the forecast with a high of 22 degrees C and humidex values reaching 28. The region is under a widespread severe weather risk, with thunderstorms possible.
Instant Weather has placed Hanover under a risk category that includes threats of damaging wind gusts and hail up to toonie size. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
No weather alerts are currently in effect for the town, but residents are reminded to take shelter if thunder roars. Environment Canada’s lightning safety motto is: When thunder roars, go indoors.
Conditions will improve starting Wednesday, with mainly sunny skies and a high of 22°C. Thursday will be sunny with a high of 25°C, and Friday will be the warmest day of the week at 28 degrees C, well above the late-July normal of 25 degrees C.
The sunny break will be short-lived, however, as clouds and a 60 percent chance of showers return on Saturday, with a high near 23 degrees C. Sunday will see a 30 percent chance of showers and a high of 21°C.
