Lethbridge residents can learn about City plans, projects and progress at a free City Showcase event on Monday, September 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the City Hall foyer at 910 4 Avenue South. The drop-in event gives people a chance to ask questions and get updates directly from City staff and members of Council.
According to the City of Lethbridge, the showcase will feature displays on the Capital Budget process, progress at the Lethbridge Airport, water and wastewater treatment upgrades, recycling program changes, and other projects shaping the community.
The event comes as the City moves forward with about $285 million in upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Starting October 1, Alberta’s Extended Producer Responsibility program enters Phase 2, shifting recycling costs from municipalities to producers. Residents can learn more about these changes at the Showcase.
City staff and Council members will be on hand to answer questions and explain how decisions are made, with a focus on projects that affect everyday life in Lethbridge.
The City Showcase complements the larger Community Conversation events. The next Community Conversation will take place on January 28, 2027, at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The City has also launched the Strong Roots, Stronger Future campaign, a two-phase public engagement process for the upcoming 2027-2030 Capital Improvement Program within a 10-year Capital Plan. Residents can get involved and provide input on priorities for the next decade.
The event is free, and no registration is required. Anyone interested in learning more about City services and upcoming changes is welcome to drop by City Hall on September 28.
