A mobile breast cancer screening clinic is coming to Neepawa, Manitoba, from April 7 to April 16, 2026. The BreastCheck service provides mammograms to women in their own community so they do not have to travel to larger cities like Brandon or Winnipeg for the procedure.
This program, run by CancerCare Manitoba, uses two mobile clinics that visit nearly 90 rural and northern communities on a two-year rotation. By bringing the equipment directly to the area, the program helps more people get checked for cancer early, which can save lives.
The visit is organized in partnership with Prairie Mountain Health, the organization responsible for health services in the Neepawa region. The province recently lowered the recommended age for these screenings to 45, meaning more residents are now eligible for the service.
Residents can book an appointment by calling the central booking line at 1-855-952-4325. This ensures that everyone who needs a screening can secure a time while the mobile unit is in town.
