Residents in Neepawa and the surrounding Municipality of North Cypress-Langford are being advised to prepare for a late-season snowstorm that is expected to bring up to 15 centimetres of snow to the region. Environment Canada issued a special weather statement on Sunday, March 29, 2026, warning that the system will continue to impact travel conditions through Monday and into early Tuesday morning.
The snowfall began moving into southwestern Manitoba on Sunday night. Forecasters anticipate the heaviest accumulation will occur through Monday, with additional snowfall of 5 to 10 centimetres expected throughout the day. Gusty winds are also predicted, reaching speeds of 30 to 50 kilometres per hour, which may create wind chills as low as -15.
Drivers should plan for potentially slippery road conditions as the storm passes through the area. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure oversees the maintenance of the provincial highway system and utilizes a fleet of approximately 340 truck plows and motor graders to help keep roads clear during winter weather events. Staff across 46 maintenance yards are tasked with managing the province’s 19,000-kilometre highway network.
As this weather event unfolds, residents are encouraged to monitor local updates. Those who observe severe weather conditions are invited to report their findings to Environment Canada by emailing MBstorm@ec.gc.ca, calling 1-800-239-0484, or posting on X using the hashtag #MBStorm.
