The Frontier School Division board of trustees has approved its 2026-27 school year calendar and budget, and Norway House schools are set to be among the first stops for the board in the new term.
At their meeting on March 25-26, 2026, trustees scheduled the division’s September 14-16, 2026 board meeting to include school visits in Area 5, Norway House. The visit falls just days after students return to class across the division.
For families in Norway House planning their schedules, the 2026-27 school year begins on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 for staff, with the first day of classes for students on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The last day of school before the Christmas break is Friday, December 18, 2026, with classes resuming on Monday, January 4, 2027. The final day of classes for students is Tuesday, June 29, 2027, and schools officially close on Wednesday, June 30, 2027.
The board also approved the 2026-27 budget, which continues to focus on three core areas: Academics, Indigenous Way of Life, and Student Services and Wellness. Trustees additionally signed off on a refocused and redesigned Strategic Plan for the year ahead, the reopening of San Antonio School in Bissett, and refinements to the division’s accessibility policy.
