Olds and area residents can start planning for the holiday season, as the Town of Olds and the Olds Fashioned Christmas Committee have confirmed dates for the 2026 Kick Off to Christmas. The celebration will run from November 27 to 29, with events centred in Centennial Park in Uptowne Olds.
Local businesses, community groups, schools, and service organizations are invited to submit their own November and December holiday events for the annual Olds Fashioned Christmas Calendar of Events. Submissions close on September 30, 2026, and organizers are encouraging early entries via the online calendar form.
The community calendar is distributed as 12,000 flyers across Olds and Mountain View County, making it a key promotional tool for local happenings. Since 1993, the volunteer-driven celebration has offered festive activities throughout November and December, including craft shows and family-friendly gatherings.
The Santa Claus Parade of Lights is held in conjunction with the season, and all activities are free for attendees. Town council noted strong community support for the 2025 event despite cold temperatures, and organizers look forward to another year of celebration.
