Oshawa Public Libraries has launched a series of free programs and activities across its branches in Oshawa, Ontario, to help families stay busy during the 2026 school break. The events are running in two stages, beginning with early activities from March 2 to March 14, followed by a full week of daily programs from March 16 to March 20, 2026.
Starting March 2, the library is offering special activity bags for teenagers aged 12 to 18 that include items to take home. All branches will also host a March Break Kick-Off Party on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to coincide with a scheduled day off for local students.
Families can sign up for hands-on sessions like making slime, creating circuit bracelets, or learning how to code small robots to complete space missions. The library is also working with community partners to offer a safety-themed story time with the Ministry of Transportation and a live play performed by Theatre on the Ridge.
Because these programs are popular, staff suggest that residents check the online event listings for availability before heading to a branch. The activities are designed to provide local parents with low-cost options for children of all ages, from toddlers to teens.
