The City of Owen Sound, Ontario, is hosting free public skating sessions at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre from March 16 to March 19, 2026. These sessions provide local families with an indoor activity during the school break while outdoor ice options are no longer available.
The daily skates run from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and are open to residents of all ages. This programming is made possible through sponsorships from Shankar Law, local CUPE branches, and the Mathew Eckert Charitable Gift Fund.
Safety is a priority during these events, and city officials recommend that all participants wear a helmet while on the ice. These indoor sessions offer a way for the community to stay active as the winter recreation season begins to wind down at the end of the month.
