Families in Owen Sound, Ontario, took part in several community events this past week during the 2026 March Break. The United Way of Bruce Grey put together a list of free and low-cost things to do to help parents find local entertainment during the school holiday.
At Heritage Place Shopping Mall, the holiday lineup featured magic shows by Bumbling Bert and animal displays from Zoo To You. Children also had the chance to join art workshops and meet characters like Bluey at the shopping centre throughout the week.
The Grey Roots Museum and Archives ran a program called March Break Magic at its location near Rockford. This included hands-on sessions where children learned about the weather through creative activities and campfire cooking.
While popular workshops like the Weather Wizards: Splash and Stomp art session on March 20, 2026, were sold out, many other options remained open for the public. These events were designed to give families accessible and affordable ways to stay busy while school was out.
