On March 5, 2026, the Owen Sound Police Service arrested a female driver for impaired driving in Owen Sound, Ontario, after a resident reported her erratic behaviour. A concerned citizen called the police after seeing the woman twitching and walking irregularly at a local business before she drove away in a vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop to investigate the report. A drug recognition officer conducted specialized tests and determined that the woman was driving while under the influence of drugs.
During a search of the driver, police found a folded piece of paper containing a white powder they suspect is cocaine. The driver was charged with impaired operation and possession of an illegal drug.
As a result of the arrest, the woman’s vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. Her driver’s licence has also been suspended for 90 days.
