The City of Owen Sound, Ontario, is asking residents to report potholes through an online portal to help maintenance crews keep up with road damage this spring. With the recent arrival of warmer weather, the typical freeze-thaw cycle has caused asphalt to break apart, creating hazards for drivers across the community.
Residents can use the Report a Concern form to submit the exact location of a pothole, including the nearest property address. The City of Owen Sound Public Works Department also encourages people to upload photos of the damage to help staff see the problem and respond more quickly.
According to the city, crews typically aim to repair reported potholes within a few days of receiving a notice, depending on the weather and current workload. These temporary repairs are finished using cold mix asphalt to fill the holes and make the roads safer for everyone.
