The Town of Ponoka is looking to fill four positions, including lifeguard jobs at the Ponoka Aquaplex and a Community Peace Officer role. The careers page on the town website lists openings for Casual Lifeguard, Lifeguard Level 3, Facilities Attendant, and Community Peace Officer.
The lifeguard postings come as the Ponoka Aquaplex is in the middle of its annual maintenance shutdown, which runs until September 7. The facility is set to reopen September 8. The pool includes a 25-metre swimming pool, a 12-foot diving tank, a wading pool, hot tub, and sauna.
The Town currently has two Community Peace Officers who focus on crime reduction, crime prevention, and community safety. The new Community Peace Officer would join that team. According to the Alberta government, candidates must be at least 18, have no criminal record, complete required training, and pass a physical abilities test.
