The City of Prince Rupert is looking to fill two casual administrative positions that support the local RCMP detachment. A Records Clerk and an Office Clerk III – Front Counter are both needed on an on-call basis, with applications due August 27 and September 4, 2026.
The Records Clerk role, posted as File No. 2026-7, pays $39.21 per hour and closes August 27. The Office Clerk III – Front Counter position, File No. 2026-8/2026-9, pays $37.90 per hour and closes September 4. Both jobs are represented by CUPE Local 105.
Anyone hired must obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance. The Records Clerk posting also asks for at least two years of experience working with all functions in PRIME, plus a sound working knowledge of RCMP data and operating systems including PRIME, JUSTIN, and CPIC, which are used for police records and information management.

The detachment moved into the new building at 145 Market Place in April 2025, replacing a facility that was nearly 50 years old. The new detachment cost about $23.5 million, under the $25 million approved budget. The Prince Rupert RCMP serves Prince Rupert, Port Edward, Lax Kw’alaams, Metlakatla, Kitkatla, Hartley Bay, and Klemtu.
