The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce is looking for business leaders from Quispamsis, New Brunswick, to join its board of directors following a call for candidates on March 2, 2026. This recruitment effort aims to ensure that local business owners and managers from the Kennebecasis Valley have a direct voice in regional decision-making and advocacy.

Business owners who join the board will help shape the organization’s programming and leadership for the 2026 term. The group focuses on helping members grow their operations, network with other professionals, and find ways to reduce business risks. Members of the board are expected to contribute to efforts that influence provincial and federal policies affecting the local economy.

The current regional organization was formed after a merger that included the Kennebecasis Chamber of Commerce and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce. Because of this history, the chamber now represents more than 700 businesses across the Greater Saint John area, aiming to provide a single voice for the business community.

Shannon Merrifield has served as the chief executive officer of the organization since February 24, 2025. She took over the leadership role from Tracy Bell and continues to oversee the group’s 200-year legacy of supporting local economic growth. The chamber also provides members with access to cost-saving programs, including group insurance and professional development tools.

Interested members can find details on how to submit their names for the board on the chamber website. This opportunity allows those in Quispamsis to ensure their specific town interests are included in broader regional development plans and business networking events.
