Quispamsis, New Brunswick, will serve as a host site for the Hook & Paddle Kayak Fishing Series as part of the 2026 competition season. The event runs from May 16, 2026, to September 20, 2026, and invites local residents to take part in a tournament that uses a catch-photograph-release format to protect local fish populations.
This multi-species series is designed for both families and competitive anglers who use kayaks to navigate community waterways. According to Tourism New Brunswick, the initiative is part of a plan to grow outdoor recreational tourism across the province.
The Town of Quispamsis is well known for its summer programming at the Arts & Culture Park, which often includes outdoor concerts and movies. While the fishing series is its own event, it adds to the town’s seasonal lineup of outdoor activities intended to keep the community active.
Participants will join anglers from across the region as the series moves through several New Brunswick locations, including Fredericton and Miramichi. The tournament provides a structured way for people to enjoy the local environment while competing for prizes throughout the summer of 2026.
