Residents of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, should prepare for delays on eight local streets next week as the town’s 2026 Street Capital Upgrades program continues. From July 13 to 19, crews will be paving, installing storm sewers, and doing shoulder work across several neighbourhoods.
The most disruptive work is expected on Cambridge Avenue, where crews from Galbraith Construction Ltd. will install storm sewers, clear brush, reshape ditches, and prepare for new curbs and sidewalks. Elliot Road will also be busy with paving, shouldering, landscaping, and fresh line painting. Other streets getting a new layer of asphalt include Heather Street, Sunny Lane, and Forrester’s Cove.
Rivercrest Drive, Antler Crescent, and Jenkins Drive will see less intensive work, limited to shouldering and landscaping. The town says motorists can expect traffic delays, and flag persons will be on site to guide drivers through construction zones. The town aims to keep at least one lane open wherever possible.
The work is part of a $2.19-million contract awarded to Saint John-based Galbraith Construction, which came in under the town’s initial $2.27-million estimate. This summer, the program is targeting about 10 streets in total, with the entire project slated to wrap up by late August or early September.
The road improvements are funded through the town’s 2026 General Capital Fund Budget, which sets aside more than $12 million specifically for road and street infrastructure. Residents can find the full construction notice and updates on the Town of Quispamsis website.
