Donald and Eleanor Eckardt of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta are the lucky winners of the 2026 Calgary Stampede Rotary Dream Home, a prize package valued at roughly $1.57 million. The Calgary Stampede announced their win on July 17, 2026, awarding the couple a brand-new home in Calgary’s Vermilion Hill community, a $50,000 furniture package, and $50,000 in cash.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is worth $1.47 million on its own. Situated in the southwest Calgary neighbourhood of Vermilion Hill, just steps from Fish Creek Park, the 2,462-square-foot house features spacious covered front and back decks meant for gathering and everyday living. The grand prize aims to deliver a complete fresh start for the winners.
The Dream Home lottery has been the primary fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park since 1977. This year marks the 30th Dream Home built by Homes by Avi in partnership with the Stampede. Proceeds from the lottery also support the Kinsmen Club of Calgary and the Calgary Marching Band Association, channeling money back into communities across the province. Last year alone, the lotteries program distributed more than $1.77 million to local Alberta charities.
