The Rotary Club of Sarnia is accepting applications for its Community Action Grants until August 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Local non-profits and community groups can request anywhere from $100 to over $30,000 to fund projects that make a difference in Sarnia.
The money comes from charitable gaming proceeds at Jackpot Time Bingo, where Rotary members volunteer. The gaming centre shares 25 percent of its net revenue each month with 93 local charities. In 2025, the Rotary Club of Sarnia put $28,242 back into the community through these funds.
The club is looking for projects that line up with its focus areas, including maternal and child health, community economic development, peacebuilding and conflict prevention, disease prevention, basic education and literacy, environmental sustainability, and water and sanitation. Priority goes to new applicants, project or capital costs over staffing, organizations that are CRA-qualified donees (or those partnering with one), and community organizations or groups over individuals.
“We fund a wide range of initiatives, from smaller requests (as low as $100) to larger projects ($30,000+),” the club states on its Action Grant Requests page. Applications are reviewed twice a year, and groups can expect to hear back within two months of the deadline.
Once a project wraps up, groups have six months to send in a report showing what was achieved, along with photos. The application form and full details are on the club’s website.
