Sidney music fans can catch an evening of Bluegrass, Americana, and Western Swing right in their own backyard when the Peninsula Roots Revival comes to the Mary Winspear Centre on July 18, 2026. Four singer-songwriters will take the stage at the Charlie White Theatre, bringing top-tier roots music to the Saanich Peninsula.
The show features Oliver Swain, a two-time Western Canadian Music Award winner and JUNO nominee who has performed at major festivals around the world, including New Orleans Jazz Fest, Tønder Festival in Denmark, and Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia. Joining him are Jenny Lester, a Canadian bluegrass performer known for her expressive vocals and multi-instrumental skills; Élise LeBlanc, a singer-songwriter inspired by classic country, Appalachian music, and western swing; and Pony Gold, the project of Theresa Anne Bromley, blending folk roots with an alt-country spirit.
“Four award-winning singer-songwriters come together for an evening of Bluegrass, Americana, and Western Swing at the Charlie White Theatre,” the event listing states. The concert is part of a growing roots music scene on Vancouver Island, with the Victoria Bluegrass Association listing the event on its regional concert calendar.
The Charlie White Theatre is a 310-seat venue at 2243 Beacon Avenue, known as one of the premier community performance theatres in British Columbia. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $49.00.
The non-profit Mary Winspear Centre, which describes itself as the “heart of the Saanich Peninsula community,” opened in September 2001 and hosts theatre, art shows, and celebrations that draw residents and visitors alike.
