No weather alerts or warnings are currently in effect for Sidney. The UV index is forecast to be 6, which Environment Canada rates as high, meaning sun protection is recommended during midday hours.
The pleasant weather follows a weekend that brought a 40 percent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms Saturday. Monday’s sunny start is a welcome change, and with sunrise at 6:19 a.m. and sunset at 8:12 p.m., there is plenty of daylight to enjoy outdoor activities.
The warm spell will be brief. By Wednesday, a mix of sun and cloud is expected, and Thursday brings a 60 percent chance of showers with a high of only 18°C. For now, residents can make the most of the mid-week sunshine before the clouds return.
