Gulf Islands MP Elizabeth May will host an open house-style community meeting at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Bodine Hall. Residents can drop in to meet their MP, ask questions, and raise local concerns before Parliament resumes on September 21.
The meeting is one of nine community gatherings May is holding across the riding before the Fall Session. No pre-registration is required, and the format is designed to be informal and accessible. May has represented Saanich—Gulf Islands since 2011 and is leader of the Green Party of Canada.
The Bodine Hall is an 8,100 square-foot space with vaulted ceilings, providing a comfortable setting for the event. The Mary Winspear Centre, located at 2243 Beacon Avenue, opened in September 2001 and is operated by the Saanich Peninsula Memorial Park Society.
May’s community meetings are part of her regular practice of connecting with constituents across the geographically large riding, which includes the Saanich Peninsula and several Gulf Islands.
