Families in Spruce Grove, Alberta, can now check their child’s bus schedule and route details online through a new portal launched by Parkland School Division on September 4, 2026. The BusPlanner Parent Portal lets parents view pick-up and drop-off locations, approximate scheduled times, and bus pass scan history without calling the school office.
To use the portal, parents log in with the email address linked to their child’s primary transportation contact. The new system replaces the old Versatrans MyStop app, which is no longer connected to the division’s transportation system and will not work.
“Parkland School Division Transportation Services are pleased to introduce the BusPlanner Parent Portal, a quick and easy way to view your child’s bus schedule, route details, and bus pass scan history for the upcoming school year,” the division said.
For families waiting for live bus tracking, a new Chipmunk App is in development. Once operational, it will show a bus’s location on a map. Bus contractors are currently installing GPS hardware on every bus while sorting out any technical issues before the app is fully ready.
Until then, parents are encouraged to keep the Bus Status 4 app installed for real-time notifications about route delays or cancellations. Transportation Services also reminds families that scheduled times are approximate and may shift due to weather or traffic, so children should arrive at their bus stop five minutes before the posted time.
Parkland School Division operates more than 150 contracted buses, transporting over 8,000 students across a service area of nearly 2,450 square kilometres west of Edmonton. The regional system also serves Evergreen Catholic Schools, neighbouring jurisdictions, and some local private schools.
