Residents of St. Paul, Alberta, can expect a visit from property assessors this season as the Town of St. Paul has brought in a contractor to update home values for tax purposes.
The Town of St. Paul has hired Accurate Assessment Group to handle all residential assessment work this year. Seven assessors from the Sherwood Park-based company will be going door to door to look at properties, check measurements, and may take photos or videos.
The assessors are Bob Daudelin, Troy Birtles, Jesse Nelson, Josh McMillian, Kris Meadows, Cory Allen, and Levi Stewart. They will all carry identification and have the legal right to enter private property for these checks under Alberta’s Municipal Government Act.
Homeowners who have questions or want to confirm an assessor’s identity can call Crystal Henning, the Town’s Tax Assessment Clerk, at 780-645-1756. The Town asks everyone to work with the assessors when they stop by.
Property assessments in Alberta are based on market value as of July 1 of the previous year, with the law requiring the assessed value to be within five per cent of that market figure. The data gathered this season helps set the property tax bills for 2027.
