Ste. Anne residents can now review two proposed bylaws that will set service fees and tax rates for the coming year. The Town of Ste. Anne posted the draft plans on its website on August 18, 2026.
The two plans, known as Special Service Plan No. 2027-01 and No. 2027-02, outline how the town will pay for waste and recycling collection, police and fire protection, road maintenance, snow removal, and parks upkeep from 2027 through 2029.
The first plan covers garbage and recycling services. If approved, a single-family home would pay $278 for the year in 2027. That amount would rise to $287 in 2028 and $297 in 2029. The net cost to run the program is estimated at $500,412 for 2027.
The second plan covers urban services like road and sidewalk upkeep, street lighting, snow clearing, drainage, and emergency services. Police protection makes up the largest share at $886,860 of the estimated $1,754,411 total cost. Based on an average single-family home assessment of $328,501, the special services tax would come to about $1,251.19 for 2027.
Both plans would replace current bylaws that expire at the end of 2026. The council is required to give public notice before final approval under Manitoba’s Municipal Act. Copies of the draft bylaws are available on the Town of Ste. Anne website.
