Monday will reach a high of 26°C under cloudy skies, with a 60 percent chance of showers near noon then a mix of sun and cloud. By evening, a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast, with the strongest storm risk between 6 and 11 p.m. central time.
The Weather Network warns that southern Manitoba will be near what forecasters call the triple point, where cold air, warm air, and an occluded front meet. That setup can produce severe thunderstorms with tornadic potential, so residents should stay alert for watches or warnings.
Tuesday keeps a 60 percent chance of showers with a cooler high of 23°C. The rest of the week looks much brighter. Wednesday will see clearing skies, followed by mostly sunny conditions Thursday through Sunday, with highs ranging from 25°C to 27°C, ideal for late-August outdoor plans.
Environment Canada notes that the current forecast is in line with normal late August conditions for Ste. Anne, where the historical average high is 25°C and the average low is 11°C.
