A popular spring tradition is returning to Steinbach, Manitoba, as the community garage sale makes its comeback following a one-year break. The event, now known as the Garage Sale Marketplace at SEC, will be held on April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the T.G. Smith Arena.
The event was cancelled last year due to major construction at the Southeast Event Centre. The new facility opened in March 2025, marking the end of a project that required the local hockey team to play in another community for two seasons.
While the sale was previously organized by the City of Steinbach, it is now being managed by the Southeast Events Group. This non-profit organization oversees the operation of the event centre on behalf of the city.
Residents interested in selling household items, clothing, and toys can now rent tables for $30. Spots can be secured by emailing [email protected] or by registering online through the event centre website. Organizers note that space is expected to fill up quickly for this long-standing community event.
