Environment Canada lifted all weather alerts for Steinbach, Manitoba, on the morning of March 13, 2026. The move follows a stretch of blowing snow and heavy winds that made travel difficult for residents throughout the region.
Before the alerts were cleared, the area saw strong wind gusts reaching between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour that caused significant travel disruptions. By 5:00 AM on March 13, 2026, conditions started to calm with temperatures at -11.8°C and wind gusts slowing to 43 kilometres per hour.
According to Environment Canada, the weather is moving toward a more stable but cool spring pattern. While the immediate travel risks have decreased, a cold snap is expected to move in over the weekend, which could bring temperatures down to -28°C by Sunday night.
