Country music fans near Stettler can look forward to an extra day of entertainment when the Ol’ MacDonald’s Music Festival returns to Ol’ MacDonald’s Resort on Buffalo Lake from September 9 to 12, 2026.
The annual event is expanding from three days to four for the first time. A new Wednesday evening Campfire Singalong kicks things off on September 9, while Bandit and the Whiskey Boys perform Thursday night. The main stage heats up Friday with a Waylon Jennings Tribute and Saturday with Canadian country star Gord Bamford, a 26-time Canadian Country Music Association award winner.
Tickets range from $65 for a Friday-only adult pass to $130 for a full weekend adult pass. Saturday-only tickets are $90. Kids 14 to 17 pay half price, and children under 13 get in free. Camping is not included in the ticket price, and the resort campground will be closed to the general public from September 11 to 14, with camping only available to festival ticket holders.
The festival has drawn strong crowds in the past, with the 2023 edition selling out. Ol’ MacDonald’s Resort, located about 30 km northwest of Stettler on the south shore of Buffalo Lake, has grown from 25 campsites in 1984 to 425 sites today.
