The 34th annual Cornfest Fun Run returns to Taber on Saturday, August 29, 2026, giving runners and walkers of all fitness levels a chance to take part in a long-standing community tradition. Hosted by the Town of Taber Aquafun Centre, the event is part of the larger Cornfest weekend and starts and finishes at the centre on 50 Street.

Three race distances are available: a 3K race starting at 8:30 a.m., a 10K at 8:45 a.m., and a 5K at 9:00 a.m. The flat, family-friendly routes are designed so anyone can join in, whether they want to run for a personal best or simply enjoy a morning walk with neighbours.

Early bird registration is open until noon on August 10. The cost is $30 without a shirt or $45 with a performance shirt. After that date, registration rises to $35 and shirts are no longer available. All participants can cool off after the race with a free swim at the Aquafun Centre until 11 a.m., just by showing their race number.

The Fun Run has been a fixture of the Taber Cornfest since 1992, and the festival itself, organized by the Taber and District Chamber of Commerce, runs from August 27 to 29. Known as Western Canada’s largest free family festival, Cornfest brings live entertainment, food vendors, and plenty of Taber corn to Confederation Park each year. In 2023, the run drew participants from across southern Alberta, including Lethbridge, Calgary, Medicine Hat, and Coaldale.

More details and registration links can be found on the Town of Taber’s Cornfest Fun Run page.
