Local business owners in The Pas and the surrounding area have an opportunity to sharpen their digital skills at an upcoming workshop designed to simplify the use of artificial intelligence. The Pas OCN Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Half-Day AI Foundation Session on May 28, 2026, to help entrepreneurs use modern technology to improve efficiency and manage daily tasks.
The event will take place at the Kikiwak Inn on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dr. Archana Krishnan, who specializes in hands-on training for small and medium-sized businesses, will lead the session. Attendees are asked to bring their own laptop or smart device to participate in the practical exercises.
This training is part of a larger provincial effort called Manitoba AI Pathways, which is supported by a $2 million investment from the Province of Manitoba. The initiative aims to help business owners overcome common barriers when adopting new digital tools.
Recent data indicates that nearly 73 per cent of Manitoba businesses identify improving efficiency and reducing administrative work as their top priority for using artificial intelligence. With small businesses making up 97.7 per cent of all businesses in Manitoba that have employees, organizers view this training as a way to help local companies remain competitive.
Registration for the workshop is required as space is limited. The cost is $25 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members, plus tax. A meal will be provided for all participants at the end of the presentation.
