The Manitoba First Nations Police Service has charged four people and is searching for two others after a man was kidnapped and assaulted at the Opaskwayak Cree Nation near The Pas, Manitoba. On February 27, 2026, police found an adult male who had been held against his will for several hours at a home on Mikisew Street. Officers believe the man was specifically targeted in a gang-related incident.

Paramedics treated the victim for serious injuries, which included being choked and assaulted with weapons. The man was taken to a hospital and has since been released. Investigators say the attack also involved the use of a harmful or noxious substance.

Police have arrested Delaney Ballantyne, 22, Maximus Ballantyne, 24, Cory Tyler Harris, 40, and Hansen Dorion, 23 of The Pas. All four men are charged with serious assault and committing an offence for a criminal organization. Three of the suspects also face charges for failing to follow their probation or court-ordered release conditions.

Warrants have been issued for two additional suspects who have not yet been found. Officers are looking for 29-year-old Shontelle Easter of Moose Lake and 38-year-old Byron McGillivary of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation. Both individuals are considered potentially dangerous by authorities.

The police are asking the public not to approach either of the wanted suspects if they are spotted. Community members with information about where these individuals might be are encouraged to contact their local police department immediately.
