Heritage North Museum in Thompson, Manitoba, has launched a new Little Explorers Day Camp for children ages 7 to 15. The camp runs every Wednesday from July 8 to August 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The camp promises hands-on land-based activities and outdoor adventures led by guest experts, including geologists. Parents and guardians of children under 12 are encouraged to join alongside their kids.
Registration costs $2 per child per day, but spots are limited. Parents and guardians must call (204) 677-2216 to sign up.
The museum, housed in distinctive log buildings at 162 Princeton Drive, has been a community fixture since 1990. It welcomed over 1,000 visitors to its exhibits in 2025 as it bounced back from pandemic closures.
The camp’s focus on land-based learning ties into the museum’s exhibits on local geology, fossils, and Indigenous artifacts, giving kids a chance to explore Thompson’s natural and cultural history firsthand.
