The Town of Tillsonburg, Ontario, is asking residents to join its first-ever Clean & Green Tillsonburg community cleanup from April 19 to April 25, 2026. This new event gives families, schools, and businesses a chance to work together to tidy up local parks and trails during Earth Week.
Teams of five to 30 people can register to take care of a local area at any time during the week. There are 26 parks and more than 10 trail locations available for adoption, including Memorial Park, Lake Lisgar, and the Trans Canada Trail.
The town is providing free gloves and garbage bags at the Customer Service Centre at 10 Lisgar Ave, the Community Centre at 45 Hardy Ave, and the Annandale National Historic Site at 30 Tillson Ave. If a team finds a needle or a sharp object, they are told not to touch it and instead call 519-688-3009 so staff can safely remove it.
Participating groups will be entered into a draw for a grand prize that includes a private swim or skate and a pizza party. Residents can also look for six hidden garden gnomes across town to win a garden starter kit.
Registration for the event opened on March 23, 2026. Once the cleanup week ends, the town will weigh all the collected trash and share the total weight and the names of the prize winners with the public.
