The Thames Valley Education Foundation is marking 25 years of supporting students across the region with a community celebration held in London on June 4, 2026. The Together We Care Celebration: 25 Years of Caring will take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Thames Room, TVDSB Education Centre (1250 Dundas St, London), offering families from communities like Tillsonburg a chance to learn about the organization’s work.
Established in 2001, the registered charity works alongside the Thames Valley District School Board to provide essential support to elementary and secondary students. The board currently serves more than 80,000 students across 161 schools in London, Middlesex, Elgin, and Oxford counties.
The upcoming event aims to support the Foundation’s Caring Fund, a program that provides emergency financial assistance for urgent needs such as food and clothing. Since its launch in 2008, the Caring Fund has distributed more than $2.1 million to help students overcome financial barriers. This assistance reaches students at local schools, including South Ridge Public School in Tillsonburg, which serves approximately 425 students in grades JK-8.
In total, the Foundation has granted over $2.2 million to support 6,200 students throughout the board. The organization continues to see high demand for these resources, reporting a 31% average annual increase in requests for help. Recent community support remains strong, with a Giving Tuesday campaign in late 2025 raising $83,500, significantly exceeding its $50,000 goal.
