Two girls hockey teams from the Tillsonburg Girls Lightning program have moved into the semi-final rounds of their provincial playoffs in Tillsonburg, Ontario. The U11 and U15 teams advanced after a successful season, putting them just one round away from the championship games.
The U11 squad, which is sponsored by Shaw’s Ice Cream, will play a home game against the North Middlesex Jr. Stars on March 21, 2026. This matchup will take place at the Tillsonburg Community Centre as the team looks to secure a spot in the finals.
On March 24, 2026, the U15 team sponsored by Tim Hortons will travel for an away game against the Sarnia Lady Sting. According to Tillsonburg Minor Hockey Inc., these games are the result of hard work by the players throughout the regular season.
All competitive female hockey games in the province are overseen by the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association. These playoff games are expected to bring many local families and sports fans together to support the youth athletes.
