The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is currently recruiting several registered practical nurses to join its medical surgical team, with a deadline to apply set for May 7, 2026. This hiring effort comes as the local facility transitions to a nurse-led model of care following the recent integration of Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll into a new entity known as Rural Roads Health Services.
The new nursing positions offer an hourly wage between $39.50 and $40.25, in accordance with the UNIFOR collective agreement. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the May 7 deadline.
This staffing adjustment follows an announcement in April 2026 regarding the layoff of 27 personal support workers at the hospital. The hospital stated this shift is intended to address increasingly complex patient needs that require more frequent clinical assessments and medication management. Under the leadership of Integrated President and CEO Nadia Facca, the organization continues to manage medical services across the region.
The changes at the Tillsonburg site occur within a wider period of restructuring for hospitals across Ontario, as many facilities navigate financial pressures and evolving patient care requirements. The hospital maintains a range of services for the community, including a 12-bed transitional care unit and the Hospital to Home program, which provides support for patients following their discharge.
